Chinese grammar, explained simply

Verbs never change. No tenses, no endings — time comes from context and particles.

Measure words. A number or "this/that" needs a measure word before the noun.

是 vs. adjectives with 很. Use 是 to link two nouns, but not before an adjective.

Chinese learning — frequently asked questions

How long does it take to learn Chinese?

With focused daily practice of 15–30 minutes, most learners reach confident everyday conversation in Chinese within about three months. My Language Learning builds a personalised path from your placement test so you spend time on what you actually need.

Is Chinese hard to learn?

Every language is learnable when you practise the right things in the right order. We start you with high-frequency phrases and real scenarios — ordering food, checking in, asking directions — so you are speaking Chinese from day one instead of memorising rules in isolation.

Can I learn Chinese for free?

Yes. You can try a full Chinese lesson with no account. A free account saves your progress and streak, and a 7-day free trial unlocks all nine languages plus AI conversation practice.
